            Barnett Freedman CBE RDI (19 May 1901 – 4 January 1958) was a British painter, commercial designer, book illustrator, typographer, and lithographer. He undertook a wide range of commissions and work that included a number of book jackets, or dust wrappers, especially for the London publishers of Faber & Faber as well as for other publishing houses. The designs included the main covers, the spine and lettering. 

This cover is for Maurice Collis's book "She was a Queen", a fictional tale of the 13th Century Queen Pwa Saw of the Pagan Dynasty of Burma (Myanmar) and that was published in 1937.  Maurice Collis (1889-1973) spent more than twenty years as a British civil servant in Burma.
