Aids to Advertisers on the London & North Eastern Railway : folder inc. sectional maps : LNER, London, 1936 : inside page

            A large format folder that includes four sectional maps of the London & North Eastern Railway's system and intended as a promtional tool for intending advertisers on their system; trains, stations and infrastructure. Dated July 1936 the folder includes outline details of the types of advertising that was available on the LNER's estate including posters, electric signs, painted and enamelled iron signs, showcases, bridge paarpets and in trains.

The folder also gives details of the various district agents who dealt with such matters. The four sectional maps are in a wonderfully clear style by George Philip & Son Ltd., who did much of the LNER's cartography, and shows the then extensive network operated. The folder is of  a 'clean' design using the 'standard' typeface the LNER adopted in the mid-1930s, the then new Gills Sans.
