Emerald City for Spiders - a photo on Flickriver

            The theme for “Looking close… on Friday” is “all green”.  Taking advantage of the sunny and unseasonably warm autumnal day in my rear garden I decided to photograph the leaves of various plants basking in the sunlight.  Their patterns were so eye catching.  

This is a photograph of a wisteria leaf hanging from a tree that it is slowly engulfing.  Basking in the sun, the pattern in the veins of the leaf reminds me of an aerial view of a suburban estate with major arterial roads off which come feeder streets from which expands the maze of courts, closes and boulevards that make up the designs of modern housing estate design.  Perhaps it is a miniature Emerald City!  It wasn’t until afterwards when I was reviewing the photos that I realised that I had a little visitor up near the top right.
