On stage are the two Danish conductors, saxophonist/flautist Christina von Bülow and bassist Morten Ankarfeldt. For almost 10 years, they have had a quartet together with two tough Brazilian musicians, drummer Cassius Theperson and guitarist Caio Marcio Santos. This quartet has brought Stan Getz's and João Gilberto's 1960 collaboration into a contemporary and Nordic context. Who else but Christina von Bülow would do this? She herself has been taught by master Stan Getz.

This means that the music has the easily recognizable Brazilian, playful lightness and at the same time it mixes with elements of modern jazz. Rio Jazz 4 plays original compositions as well as refined interpretations of music from the beloved Brazilian songbook. It will be a mix of new and old on a foundation of bossanova and samba.

And then to the guest of the evening, the Brazilian legend, saxophonist/flautist Edu Neves. He is one of the greatest in Brazilian music and has played with Hermeto Pascoal among others.

Edu Neves adds even more authenticity and power to the music when he goes on exciting musical journeys alone or together with fellow instrument member von Bülow.
