A View to a Kill

"A View to a Kill is a 1985 American-British spy film and the fourteenth in the James Bond film series produced by Eon Productions, and both the seventh and the last to star Roger Moore as the fictional MI6 agent James Bond. Although the title is adapted from Ian Fleming's short story "From a View to a Kill", the film has an entirely original screenplay. In A View to a Kill, Bond is pitted against Max Zorin, who plans to destroy California's Silicon Valley.

The film was produced by Albert R. Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, who also wrote the screenplay with Richard Maibaum. It was the third James Bond film to be directed by John Glen, and the last to feature Lois Maxwell as Miss Moneypenny.

Despite receiving mostly mixed reviews from critics, who frequently took umbrage with the effects of Moore's advanced age on his performance, it was a commercial success, with the Duran Duran theme song "A View to a Kill" performing well in the charts, becoming the only theme song to reach #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earning a Golden Globe nomination for Best Song."

"The Renault 9 and Renault 11 are small family cars produced by the French manufacturer Renault for model years 1981–1988 in saloon (Renault 9) and hatchback (Renault 11) configurations — both were styled by the French automobile designer, Robert Opron.

Variants were manufactured by American Motors Corporation (AMC), as the Renault Alliance and Renault Encore for the North American market. The car was produced in Turkey until 2004.

The models use a transverse front-wheel drive engine configuration, and feature four wheel independent suspension.
They were chosen the European Car of the Year for 1982, as well as the Motor Trend Car of the Year from Motor Trend and Car and Driver 10Best from Car and Driver (C/D) for 1983."

Phases

"There were three facelifts given to the Renault 9/11 during its career. However, the Renault 11 that was released in 1983 was only available in phases 2, 3, and 4.
There was never a phase 1 Renault 11, which leads to some confusion.
The Phase 1 is the original model released in 1981 as the Renault 9, Phase 2 was released in 1983 when the Renault 11 was also introduced, while the more aerodynamic Phase 3 appeared in 1987.

Finally, the Phase 4, which was not sold in most of Europe, was released in Turkey in 1997. This final revision had more rounded head and tail lights, as well as ovoid body cladding around the bumpers and boot lid, which aimed to give the car a more modern look. It carried an "Broadway" badge as well as the Renault 9 designation, but note that "Broadway" had already been used on special editions of the earlier phase models."

Renault 9/11 en España

"En España el Renault 9 se fabricó en la factoría de Renault en Palencia desde el año 1982 hasta 1988 tras haberse fabricado 245.549 unidades. 194.628 de las mismas fueron vendidas en España durante los ocho años que se mantuvo en el mercado.

La gama 9/11 se presentó en principio en dos versiones, GTL y TSE, a la que más tarde se añadiría la versión GTD (que incorporaba un motor diésel). Las versiones GTL y TSE equipan el motor Cléon-Fonte de 1.4 litros con 60 CV (DIN) para el primero y 72 CV (DIN) para el segundo. Esta diferencia en potencia se lograba con la incorporación de un carburador de doble cuerpo, que unido a un mayor cruce de su árbol de levas proporcionaba los 12 CV suplementarios de la versión TSE.

Una caja de cinco velocidades, de serie en el TSE y opcional en el GTL, proporcionaba un confort de marcha, adecuado al ajustado rendimiento del motor, suficiente para las necesidades de aquella época. La incorporación del cuentarrevoluciones, los elevalunas eléctricos delanteros y el cierre centralizado de las puertas era un elemento diferenciador de las dos opciones. Los tejidos de tapicería diferentes, también justificaban la diferencia de precios entre las dos versiones. La opción del aire acondicionado se ofrecía en la variante TSE fabricada en España.

La producción en FASA-Renault también incluye al R-11 Turbo, permitiendo al comprador español un vehículo de altas prestaciones a un nivel de precio mucho más competitivo que el resto de sus rivales- (Peugeot 205 GTI, Escort XR3I, Golf GTI, Kadett GTE, etc) todos ellos de importación."
