Pirate Bay, Sydney - a photo on Flickriver

Pirate Bay, Sydney

            A view I have never photographed before - until Monday of this week: Monday 15th September, 2025.

This is the view looking north-west from the rotunda at Observatory Hill Park, at Millers Point (near Barangaroo) in Sydney.

In the foreground are the wharves that make up the Walsh Bay Wharf Precinct.

The pirate ship is actually the 'James Craig' Tallship which lives at Prymont Bay Wharf, in Darling Harbour. 

Then, across the harbour:
Far left: Waverton, Berrys Bay and the old Sydney ferry 'South Steyne'.
Middle Left: Sawmillers Bay Reserve.
Middle Right: Blues Point Tower and the Blues Point headland (from where I take many photos)
Far Right: Blues Point Reserve, and Blues Point Road - which leads up to McMahons Point and the cool 'North Spoon' cafe, lol. 

And on the distant horizon you can actually see the Royal North Shore Hospital at St Leonards.

The EF 75-300mm lens has done okay BUT to get the distance more sharply I need to get an EF 28-300mm, or maybe EF 70-200mm lens. But these EF lenses are old now and Canon only make RF lenses. SO, it looks like I need to save up for the R5 Mk II mirrorless camera, and use an adaptor in order to use the EF lenses, and then - eventually - purchase RF lenses.

My Canon EOS 5D Mk IV with the Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 lens.
