YYB118 Restoration shed - a photo on Flickriver

            On 23 Oct 09 I had the pleasure of visiting YYB118, probably the last Brutonian still showing it's original livery.  YYB is being restored by 'Faded Image' and this may be one of the last shots we see of the Brutonian livery, as it will be restored to it's original Hutchings and Cornelius livery.

Brutonian bought 4 buses from H&C over the years.  The first was another Harrington bodied bus on a 1963 AEC Reliance chassis - 217UYC.  It was the longest serving vehicle of the whole fleet  (1972-1987) - did it ever make it to preservation?  The other two were bought when H&C packed up on 31 May 1979.  WYD 928H an AEC Reliance on a Willowbrook chassis, which appears derelict in a recent picture from Fryske.  

The other H&C bus, like YYB118, is also a survivor.  CYA181J an AEC Reliance with a Plaxton body went down for restoration assessment at Quantock Motor Services in early Oct 09, having spent about 10 years parked up at Winkleigh.

NJW719E a Daimler Roadliner which was never run by Brutonian is in preservation the Transport Museum Wythall, Worcestershire.  497ALH a rare AEC Reliance with a Willowbrook body was eventually lucky enough to receive the Brutonian livery and went into preservation, although I have not seen any recent shots of it.

MMR552 was parked in the Brutonian yard and has been fully preserved, although I suspect it was only renting a parking space for a while.

Any other information about former Brutonian buses is greatly received.  Is there one out there, other than YYB118, still sporting the original livery?
