"Here comes that neighbors dog!... - a photo on Flickriver

            ... I'm going to turn sideways and look as big as I can!"

On the way home from our walk we ran into a young woman who lives in one of the apts. next door, who owns a miniature doberman.
This dog is the size of a chihuahua! 
I came around the side of the garage first and didn't see the dog until I was right up on it. If I had known it was there, I would have veered in a different direction so that Floydd would have followed me.
Too late. Floydd came flying around the garage and expected to jet on past me on the way to home, but drew up short when he saw the dog. 
I thought the dog would bark and charge, but it just stood there trying to decided what to do next, obviously just as taken back as the cat was.
Floydd could have just dashed through the bushes and gone home.
Instead he decided to defend his turf and went into defense mode.
As soon as it became apparent that the dog was showing signs of weakness, Floydd started advancing on him!
This cat has a lot of brass......LOL! 
I backed him off, and he was good about following me back to the house.
