2019 Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC (Thierry Neuville / Nicolas Gilsoul)

            2019 saw the ceremonial start of Wales Rally GB held at the Pier Head in Liverpool. I got down there very early before a single car had even arrived to try and get a good vantage point for the event and it paid off handsomely.

One of the first big name arrivals was Belgian Thierry Neuville in the factory-entered Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC (ALZ-WR-40), here passing the Mersey Ferries terminal building on the way to what would be a rather crowded, not to mention expensive, car park just an hour later.

Neuville went on to have a strong rally, ending the event in second position, 10 seconds behind the victorious Toyota of Ott Tanak.
