03/100 Strangers (Round III).

I ambled around town after I’d taken Marie’s photo (Stranger N°02) and not long after I’d finished speaking to one of my strangers from Round II saw my Stranger N°3, Round III walking down the road into the Town Square. I asked if he had some time and he said yes but not much, but he heard me out and said it was fine as long as it didn’t take too long.

Meet Malek, he’s 28 and is originally from Algeria but he’s been living in France for the last 4 years. He’s not married and doesn’t have any children. He’s in recruitment but he didn’t say in what field. In his free time he enjoys all sport. He was only in Etampes for a short time but was looking around the town before heading back to the station when I stopped him.

So as not to hold him up too much I took the photos where we standing, watching my own back as I was standing in the road! Out of the four that I took of Malek I found it difficult to pick one for the main photo, but I liked something a little more in the one I’ve used than in the others, but have added a second shot (comment shot 1) as a complimentary one of him. I forgot to ask him what he had wanted to do as a child, but did remember to ask what he hated eating, it was mushrooms, but he’s also allergic to them too, so asked him to think of a plateful of them and snapped as fast as I could, I needed a second try, but this time it worked. Malek was easy to talk to and it would have been interesting to have had more time with him. When I’d finished taking my photos I used a tourist plaque to take my notes on. I did them as quickly as I could to allow him to see a bit of Etampes before heading off. When everything was done he asked me where the best places and the main shops were to visit, so I told him where he’d find what he wanted and I thanked him for his time before he headed off and I headed home.
