04/100 Strangers (Round III). - a photo on Flickriver

It was far too nice to stay in this afternoon after a rather dull morning, so I grabbed my camera, notepad and pen and headed out for a walk and a stranger hunt. I decided to go off in a different direction from usual; the Town Centre is beginning to get a bit boring for other photo opportunities.

When I reached the Theatre I noticed loads of people milling around and thought I’d have a reasonable chance. I then heard that a lot of them were talking English and thought they were probably from the Theatre School here, as I got 6 of them in Round II, I gave them a miss for now and headed off to see if the two people sitting on the front steps were up for the project. I asked them if they had a bit of time and once they said yes I explained what I wanted; they both said it was fine.

Meet Aline my Stranger N°04, she’s 32 and was born in the south of France and has lived here for the last 6 years. She’s married with one child at the moment. She’s a graphics designer working in 3D and is doing a training course at the moment in town. When she’s not working she enjoys drawing in all types of media, pencils, crayons, paint and on the computer too. When she was younger she wanted to be a stylist, but soon decided that it was a rotten job!

I took 4 photos of Aline and after I’d taken the last one of those we checked through them and there wasn’t one she didn’t like. I’ve chosen the main one because it’s my favourite of the ones I took and have added the complimentary shot in which I like here expression (comment shot 1).

When I’d taken my main photos I then asked her what she hadn’t like to eat as a child and she said cheese. Right think of a plateful of cheese and was ready to catch the look. I showed Aline the result and she said that it was spot on, (comment shot 2). She told me afterwards that she still doesn’t like cheese, but had also been a very difficult eater as a child, but is much better now than she was! She was eating a punnet of rice and vegetables when I first met her.

Aline was very chilled out about the whole idea and once I’d taken my notes for her and my Stranger N°5 we chatted about the project, photography and what we didn’t like to eat as children before they had to return to their course.
