George's Delight - a photo on Flickriver

George's Delight

This rhododendron, newly added to the "C" bed (yellow bed) of Homestead Park, looks like it may be misidentified. The tag says Anne's Delight but It appears more like the rhododendron Stadt Essen.....stay tuned. :-)

Flower / Truss Description: Flower widely funnel-shaped, 3" across, pale creamy yellow with pale red picotee edges. Held in dome-shaped trusses with 13 flowers.

Fragrant: No

Bloom Time: Midseason

Height (ft.) in 10 Yrs: 3

Cold Hardiness Temperature: 0°F (-18°C)

Foliage Description / Plant Habit: Leaves elliptic, apiculate apex, cuneate to rounded base, 4" to 4½" long, light green, retained 3 years. Broad, well-branched plant.
