Jorge de Bagration y di Costafiorita y de Mukhrani was a Spannish sportscar racer and nobleman.His father was Irakli Bagration-Mukhrani, the Georgian Prince of the former Royal dynasty of Bagrationi and  Italian noblewoman, Countess Maria Antonietta Pasquini di Costafiorita. He was born with the given name of Georgi later assuming the Spannish name of  name of Jorge de Bagration, and upon his fathers death in 1977  Jorge assumed the Headship of the Royal House of Bagrationi of Georgia, taking the title Royal Highness

Jorge de Bagration started his racing career as a motorcycle rider at the age of 16. In 1963 he moved to four wheels, competing in rallyes and hillclimbs in a Fiat 1600S and a Fiat-Abarth 850TC. He scored his first outright wins in 1965 and the following year he won his class in the Spanish Touring Car Championship, at the wheel of a Mini Cooper. Then he was signed up by Renault-España, driving a works Alpine-Renault A110 in the Rallye Bayonne-Côte Basque, and later a Renault 8 Gordini. He was also a front-runner in the Spanish Rally Championship, finishing second in the standings, in a Lancia Fulvia HF. He made his single seater debut in 1967 at the wheel of a Brabham BT18–Ford in the Formula 3 Grand Prix de Madrid  held at Jarama. He progressed to the European Formula 2 Championship, driving one of the Lola T100–Ford’s entered by the Escuderia Nacional Calvo Sotelo, alongside his friend Álex Soler-Roig. In 1969 de Bagration won his first of three Spanish Touring Car Championships, driving a BMW 2002TI. During the year he participated also in the European Touring Car Championship.  By the end of the season he progressed to sportscar racing, sharing a powerful 3-litre Porsche 908/02 with Soler-Roig in the 12 Hour of Barcelona he campaigned his Porsche throughout the following season at the seasons he was crowned the Spanish Hillclimb and Circuits Champion.  In 1971 he went on with his Porsche 908/02, becoming the Spanish Hillclimb Champion and finishing 3rd in the Spannish Touring car championships in an Alfa Romeo GTAm. In 1972 he breifly led the LeMans 24 hour race at the wheel of a 3-litre Lola T280-Ford Cosworth with the car retiring with a broken clutch. He remained with Ecurie Bonnier and their Lola T290–Ford for the 1972 2 litre European Championships. He almost broke into Formula One in 1974 shedualed to drive a Surtess TS16 alongside Jochen Mass and Carlos Pace but his sponsorship deal broke down at the 11th hour.  Despite Prince de Bagration had cut down his involvement in racing after his vain attempt to compete in the Spanish Grand Prix, he returned to the European 2-litre Sportscar Championship and achieved a sixth place in the race held at Misano, at the wheel of a works Abarth Osella PA2.  After that he very much curtailed his racing activities, but did win the 1981 Spannish Rally Championship in a Lancia Stratos.

Upon his active racing retirement he became the Public Relations manager for both Fiat Spain and Fiat Portugal.
Jorge de Bagration who was the second cousin of the King of Spain, Juan Carlos de Borbón, died of hepatitis at Tbilisi, Georgia, on 16 January 2008, at the age of 63.
