            Where do the years go?

This blog started on October 6th, 2006.  I was just shy of 31 years old.  Now I’m pushing 42!

My ten year blogoversary was last year.  After a milestone like that, eleven seems like no big deal.  In fact, I’m just marking time until I hit twenty years.

I’m still wearing the original blouse and skirt from the 2006 post.  That’s about all that’s remained the same!  I’ve changed shoes, hair, states, husbands, pets, and careers.  I doubt 2006-me would have expected I’d still be blogging and challenging myself to create and photograph a different outfit (almost) every day.  In fact, October 6th is the one day a year when you can expect me to rewear an outfit.

My style has evolved as expected, but the biggest change is how I source my clothing and accessories.  Whenever possible, I now try to purchase second-hand.  It’s kinder on the environment and my wallet.  It’s also more fun.  In fact, without thrifting, I doubt I’d have continued outfit-a-day blogging.  Nothing in this outfit is thrifted, but it’s approaching home-grown vintage, just like me.
