A Labor of Love

            The first time I met my friend Elisa, she was in labor.  I was her birth photographer, but I also quickly became one of her cheerleaders.  I occasionally switched between giving pressure to her forehead or back, running little errands - while continually photographing the labor and birth process.  It was such an intense labor, and amazingly emotional birth...she worked so hard and long to bring her child into the world, and I was able to witness that and document her beautiful labor of love. The whole process inspired and challenged me in so many ways.  

By the end of it all, Elisa and I had created such a bond, that she called me up a month later and asked if we could get together.  Now we see each other several times a month, and I consider her a good friend.  I love that we can share this amazing, life-changing memory together.  I will forever treasure the experience!
