La Holstentor, con le sue due torri gemelle, è la più famosa porta di accesso alla città ed uno dei più celebri monumenti della Germania. La costruzione fortificata, in stile tardo gotico, con pareti di 3,5 m di spessore, raffigurava il potere e la fierezza della "regina della lega anseatica".

The Holstentor, with its twin towers, is the most popular gateway to the city and one of the most famous monuments of Germany. The fortified building, in late Gothic style, with walls 3.5 m thick, represented the power and the pride of the "Queen of the Hanseatic League."
