Albert Square, Manchester. - a photo on Flickriver

            A £300 million refurbishment of Manchester’s Town Hall (extreme right) and Albert Square is underway. The project which started in 2018 is not due to be completed until 2024. When this picture was taken in 2019, work had already begun inside the Town Hall with the Square still open to the public As of today it is a complete building site with scaffolding all over the place. It is reported that the amount of scaffolding being used is the largest in Europe; even more than is being used around the Houses of Parliament in London.
