Static displays at the British Grand Prix are usually abysmal and this year, once again, was no exception to the rule. 

However, the local constabulary make a good attempt to make up for it with Northamptonshire Police having a number of vehicles on site.

As per usual there was a very visible police presence around the circuit and one of the contingent was this Volvo XC70 that is jointly operated by Northamptonshire Police and Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service. 

Part of the Joint Operations Team the vehicle is manned by a combination of police and fire officers and can be seen at major events or incidents. It is also used as a drone unit on occasions.

Although it clearly has 'Fire' written all over it it still looks solely like a police vehicle. Personally, I think it needs some red battenburg on it.

The two services do share a number of vehicles, including a rather nice Toyota Hilux (see below).
