A7R+ZuikoMC1.4/50@f4 sooc - a photo on Flickriver

            In prior film years, I would use full studio lighting for such stills. But with an excellent digital camera and lens, imho very pleasing results are obtainable with minimal gear. Of course, the final result is strictly personal taste.

The A7R is extremely sensitive to light quality and quantity, and thus I like to experiment with different light sources. This shot is a combo of overcast daylight diffused from left side window and on-camera bounce manual flash using only a $7 flash of GN20. The net effect is softer lighting, yet sufficient to achieve ample saturation and warm colours. 

This shot is handheld sooc, but with in-camera adjustments. The lens renders very saturated colours, and I prefer to reduce saturation to -1 with contrast and sharpness increased to +1. For such shots I prefer to use an aperture of not less than 3.5, to obtain an overall balance of bokeh and definition.
