The bigger picture

            The scene today with floodwater from the brook in the eastern Leicestershire village of Medbourne.
We'd driven through other other villages today along the Welland valley with many of the fields either side of the road underwater.
Medbourne, which lay on the Gartree Road, was a large market settlement at the time of Roman Britain.
