BCB Puzzles 400pc Wishes E Calzado Metallic Paper DSC00035

            One of the American enthusiasts I've met on facebook has been commissioning jigsaws with images printed on 'metallic paper'. This results in brilliant saturated colour, but is not like a foil or even the sort of frosted foil paper that is used to wrap chocolate or inside cigarette packets (I'm going back decades when my father smoked). It is more like a subtle scintillation or glitter as the pieces are moved in sunlight.

The cutter is Brookie Biglands of BCB Puzzles in Fort Wayne, Indiana and she cuts in an all-over interlocking pattern, with rounded knobs and divided angled corners. The pieces are cut from beautiful thick 5-ply with a mahogany backing. Ply of this quality just doesn't seem to be available in the UK.
