Broken Top on a Cloudy Day - a photo on Flickriver

            The only day I was able to get to Sparks Lake this year and the weather was not with me.  Took this when the solid overcast sky broke up ever so slightly.  
Broken Top is a stratovolcano that last erupted about 100,000 years ago.  It's jagged edges are the result of an eruption that had sufficient force to "blow" the top of the volcano off.  It is part of the Three Sisters Wilderness area in Central Oregon.
