a blessing of hemlock - a photo on Flickriver

            It is pretty well established that I love spending time in the forest, and I am very lucky that there are vast acres nearby.

These three images are another step towards expressing a theme that has been coalescing in my mind for a long time.

A lone wanderer seeking out a solitary existence far from the mundane trappings of the modern world.

Or perhaps an ancient warrior, returning from battle, shedding the horrors he might have seen and seeking refuge from the deeds he had committed. 

I debated whether to post these images at all since the entire concept was still inchoate, so I hope you will forgive my indulgence.
