Factory Reflection - IJmuiden, Netherlands

A steel factory in the port of Ijmuiden billows smoke and steam into the air and reflects off the water of the Binnen-IJ or inner IJ as the sun sets over Europe and the North Sea. The Binnen-IJ and the Afgesloten-IJ (closed IJ), make up a body of water called the Amsterdam Ij that runs between the North Sea and 2 bodies of water located in the Netherlands called the IJmeer and Markermeer. The Ij was built as a means of giving Amsterdam and the nearby city of Haarlem better access to the North Sea and giving their ports a much needed rejuvenation.
