Sanders 402 1135hrs Sheringham to Norwich 150522

            Another Norwich City Centre shot sees Sanders former J Fishwick of Leyland Wright bodied VDL SB200 type number 402 - YH63 CXF heading along Castle Meadow as it arrives in with the above service X44 journey from Sheringham, although it wasn’t able to run via Cromer - see below.  

Of the nine vehicles of this chassis/bodywork combination that joined the Sanders fleet from various sources between May 2015 and March 2016, it appears that only 400/2/4-6 are currently in use.  Of these, vehicles 404-6 were originally allocated fleet numbers 227-9, but they had been renumbered during January 2016.  

The “Mammoth Marathon” Road Run from Sea Palling to Sheringham was held on this day and although the roads had not been closed there were likely to be up to 1000 runners on the course.  As a result Sanders quite rightly decided, in the interests of safety, not to run service CH2 North Walsham - Mundesley - Cromer on this day.  In addition, the 0940/1040hrs Cromer to Wells-next-the-Sea and 1000hrs Wells to Cromer service CH1 journeys operated as normal, but from then up to 1600hrs all other service CH1 journeys started/terminated at Sheringham.  After 0940hrs and until 1600hrs service 44A/X44 Sheringham - Norwich journeys ran directly in both directions over the Sheringham to Roughton section via the A1082, A148, B1436 and Felbrigg village.  So between the times mentioned, Cromer, Suffield Park and The Runtons were left busless, while Swafield, Trunch, Mundesley, Trimingham, Sidestrand and Overstrand had no service at all.
