Low Tide at Porlock Weir - a photo on Flickriver

            Porlock Weir in West Somerset is a small village and harbour on the Bristol Channel dating back over a thousand years to Anglo Saxon times. 

Although a quiet location now, it was once a thriving port which in the 18th and 19th century traded goods with South Wales and was home to small ship building and fishing.

The main industry now is tourism as it is close to the picturesque Exmoor National Park and provides shelter for a range of sailing boats.
