Eeyore and the models for Pooh.

Carolynn and I visited the Victoria and Albert Museum in London to see an exhibition about the collaborative efforts of A A Milne and E H Shepard to create the characters for Winnie the Pooh. Children and adults were invited to draw in the exhibition, I was in a tiny minority of adults but could not resist getting my pencil out. Eeyore and Piglet were drawn from Shepherd's first sketches of Christopher Milne's toys in 1926. By then Eeyore was five years old and well worn, with a droopy neck. The teddy bears are similar to the original Pooh, while the smaller one is more like Growler, Shepherd's son Graham's bear which he also drew for the books.
