Poppies for VE Day

            The poppies in our garden have bloomed just at the right time. A good hour in the fresh air an sunshine drawing with Derwent watercolour pencils, adding a bit graphite at the end to separate the petals a bit. It's a good thing to remember that six years of war in Europe came to end on this day all those years ago but I'm not sure a party is the best way to do it.
