             McCrory's was a prominent national chain of "five and dime" stores in the U.S. of A.. They were founded by John Graham McCrorey in 1882 and ceased operations in 2002. It is said that McCrorey was so frugal that he legally changed the spelling of his last name, dropping the E, to save money on the cost of his signs. Fewer letters equals cheaper signs!
