“Tarzan, Guard of the Jungle” was the fourteenth novel in the Tarzan series and it was originally serialized in Blue Book Magazine from October, 1930 through April, 1931.  It was issued in book form in 1931 as “Tarzan the Invincible,” which was the first book issued by Burroughs’ own publishing house in Tarzana, California.  In this story, Tarzan, his monkey friend Nikima, and Chief Muviro and his faithful Waziri warriors prevent Soviet communists from looting the lost city of Opar.
