Annotations in Folger First Folio No. 70

            This opening of Titus in Folger No. 70 shows typical examples of markings, annotations and corrections.  By the last quarter of the 18th century, editing and correcting Shakespeare's text had become an English penchant, and the practice continues today.  Readers and scholars still debate everything from press variants to punctuation.
