Intensity of bottom trawls & dredges in NE Atlantic during 2015.

A project to test a dark ("night") bathymetry scheme.

A light to dark blue gradient was used for marine bathymetry with grey hue added using 'colourize'. Land was a uniform dark grey. A simple hillshade was applied for land and marine topography using multiply blending and 40% transparency.

To achieve the 8-bit type effect for data, the gridded data was rendered using square symbols on centroid, sized using map units to be smaller than grid. I picked inferno palette as it looked a bit retro.
