WT327 English Electric Canberra B(I)8/(B.2) RAF RRE --* RAF Coltishall 18-9-71

            In static at the Battle of Britain display from the Radar Research Establishment  at RRE Pershore.
WT327 built as a B(I)8 did not see squadron service with RAF, being delivered in 1955 to Ferranti for radar trials for  the doomed TSR.2 aircraft.
In 1966 t/f to RRE Pershore for further research where in 1969 the B(I)8 nose was replaced with a B.2 type with laser targeting equipment.
 Still used as a research aircraft WT327 was t/f in  1976 to A.& A.E.E  Boscombe Down then to R.A.E Bedford in 1977.
 In 1997 Delta Jets of Kemble carried out work approved by the CAA to enable her to be  flown to the USA for Air Platforms Inc California later used for high altitude research by Ames (NASA) Research Centre, she was  joined soon after by Canberra B.6 XH567 another U.K research aircraft all her life.
