Someone in uniform..... - a photo on Flickriver

I was at the local park taking shots of autumn leaves hanging from winter trees when the fire siren went off. It gave me a fright as it's just across the road. Cars and trucks all pulled up from different directions, firemen running, putting on their thick heavy uniforms in a matter of seconds, then one fire engine was off with siren blaring and lights flashing, another one followed and then this support van also with siren and flashing lights - it was all go! I rolled off a few shots from a very safe distance, this one was the best for 'Someone in uniform'. The whole experience left me feeling thankful for the crews of volunteers, often putting their lives at risk to save others.
