A gulp of cormorants.... - a photo on Flickriver

            .....although in New Zealand we call them Shags, these ones are Spotted Shags. 
They're widespread on open and rocky coasts. They have slim bills, strikingly coloured emerald faces, turquoise-rimmed eyes and yellow webbed feet. The tips of their soft grey black feathers are each spotted with black and they retain these colours through the year after losing their breeding plumage.
