Spring or spring, also known as spring, is one of the four seasons and follows winter. In the temperate zones it is the time when nature is awakening and sprouting. In the course of a year, the length of the day (as the length of daylight) and the arc of the sun (with the highest midday position of the sun) change depending on the geographical latitude of a location. This leads to clearly distinct seasons in middle latitudes on earth, which are repeated in an annual cycle in both hemispheres. While it is autumn in one hemisphere, it is spring in the other; the northern spring of the northern hemisphere is distinguished from the southern spring of the southern hemisphere.

Der Frühling oder Lenz, auch das Frühjahr genannt, ist eine der vier Jahreszeiten und folgt auf den Winter. In den gemäßigten Zonen ist es die Zeit der erwachenden und sprießenden Natur. Im Laufe eines Jahres ändern sich Tageslänge (als Dauer des lichten Tages) und Tagbogen der Sonne (mit höchstem mittäglichem Sonnenstand) abhängig von der geographischen Breite eines Ortes. Dies führt auf der Erde in mittleren Breiten zu deutlich ausgeprägten Jahreszeiten, die sich auf beiden Hemisphären in jährlichem Turnus wiederholen. Während auf der einen Hemisphäre Herbst ist, ist auf der anderen Frühling; vom Südfrühling der Südhalbkugel wird der Nordfrühling der Nordhalbkugel unterschieden.
