Tulloch Castle (1) Dingwall - a photo on Flickriver

            Not a very interesting castle (from the outside anyway), although genuine enough, but very much altered.  It's included here more for the sake of comprehensiveness than anything else!

Tulloch once stood in glorious isolation, looking out across Dingwall and the Cromarty Firth, to the Black Isle, but unfortunately the rising tide of Dingwall's housing estates is now lapping around it.  I guess with 8 billion people now on the planet, you have to put them somewhere!  (In my adult life, the human population of the planet has doubled!)

Anyway, this is Tulloch Castle from the front.  I don't think the wall and arch are particularly old, the wall seems to simply be a retaining wall, supporting a lawn - under which is the much talked about underground chamber, said to be the end of the tunnel connecting Tulloch Castle to Dingwall Castle!  I didn't go and look at it, but I bet its floor is at the same level as the ground I am standing on here below the retaining wall - making the tunnel theory even less probable.
