La Chiesa di Saint-Étienne-du-Mont è una delle chiese più belle di Parigi e si trova sulla montagna Sainte-Geneviève, vicino al Panthéon. L’edificio presenta una facciata molto originale e si contraddistingue per il suo asse curvo, dalla navata al transetto. Di particolare interesse all’interno vi sono: la tribuna pensile di marmo bianco finemente scolpito da Biart Padre del 1545; gli epitaffi di Racine e Pascal; il pulpito disegnato da Laurent de la Hyre e scolpito da Claude Lestocart; la vetrata della Parabola dei Convitati del 1586 e quelle del chiostro "des Charniers", attiguo al deambulatorio. In questa chiesa nel 1997 Papa Giovanni Paolo II vi ha celebrato una messa in occasione della "Giornata mondiale della gioventù".

IN THE BACKGROUND THE CHURCH OF SAINT ETIENNE DU MONT.

The Church of Saint-Étienne-du-Mont is one of the most beautiful churches in Paris and is located on the Sainte-Geneviève mountain, near the Panthéon. The building has a very original facade and is distinguished by its curved axis, from the nave to the transept. Of particular interest inside are: the hanging grandstand in white marble finely sculpted by Biart Padre from 1545; the epitaphs of Racine and Pascal; the pulpit designed by Laurent de la Hyre and sculpted by Claude Lestocart; the stained glass window of the Parable of the Guests from 1586 and those of the "des Charniers" cloister, adjacent to the ambulatory. In this church in 1997 Pope John Paul II celebrated a mass on the occasion of the "World Youth Day".
