Proprio la particolare collocazione di Valvasone, situata sul guado del fiume Tagliamento lungo quella che per secoli è stata un’asse fondamentale per la viabilità di questa parte d’Europa, ne ha determinato in ampia misura la storia e lo sviluppo.
Un insieme di eventi, questo, che ha dato origine a uno dei luoghi più affascinanti della pianura friulana, meta costante di visite, in cui è possibile ritrovare intatti ambienti e atmosfere medievali e rinascimentali.
L’interesse dei singoli edifici, unito all’armonia di un impianto urbanistico inalterato, rappresenta certamente un’attrattiva di grande richiamo culturale e turistico, cui si associano notevoli eventi e manifestazioni, capaci di valorizzare ulteriormente un borgo considerato – giustamente – tra i più belli d’Italia.
