Chi vuole arrivare all’isola di San Giorgio da Venezia deve prendere uno dei classici vaporetti che partono nella laguna. L’isola di San Giorgio Maggiore si trova proprio di fronte alla celebre Piazza San Marco ed è dunque facilmente raggiungibile dalla località turistica più celebre di Venezia. Conosciuta per l’importante monastero di San Giorgio Maggiore, complesso religioso fondato nel X dal monaco benedettino Giovanni Morosini, l’isola di San Giorgio è una meta molto apprezzata per la sua vicinanza alla città di Venezia e la bellezza architettonica delle sue costruzioni.
Situata proprio nel mezzo della splendida laguna veneziana, l’isola di San Giorgio è anche sede di un’importante organizzazione ONLUS, la Fondazione Giorgio Cini, volta alla promozione e alla valorizzazione della cultura veneziana.
