1959 Mercedes-Benz 220 S - a photo on Flickriver

1959 Mercedes-Benz 220 S

            I normally don't post car photos but this is a beauty and there is a slight story with it.

While visiting my mechanic he surprised me and took me for a ride in this vintage Benz. 
He knows I love vintages cars and motorcycles so this was an incredible treat for me to be taken for a ride out in the country. The interior was in amazing
condition (seats were like well made chairs you’d have at home) and obviously the exterior is beautiful as well. The owner has taken great care of this classic vehicle. 
We stopped along the road and I took the exterior photos. What a beauty ! 
He said was from the 1950’s but I couldn’t find anything similar to this style in the ‘50’s. Anybody know much about this car?
