Jung in His Study (1946)

            Jung added a second story to the horizontal, central portion of his towers at Bollingen.  This area was called "the chapel," a room he called "my place" to which he returned every year during student vacations.  This room, located at the highest center portion of the dwelling, became his private bedroom and study, and he placed his desk directly under the windows so he could look out over the lake as he wrote.  He kept the room locked and always carried the only key in his pocket, like a talisman.  (adapted from Deirdre Bair).
