Threatening Prairie Skies at Sunset - a photo on Flickriver

            I always like to look back at photos I have taken throughout the year when the weather turns cold and I can't get out much to shoot.  This scene unfolded very quickly as I was out running errands last July.  When I saw the skies, I headed into the country about a mile north of Champaign, Illinois and grabbed my camera and started shooting.  Though the skies looked threatening, the combination of the bright orange sunset, light blue skies to the north and the dark overhanging clouds coming in from the south made for a rather unusual scene.  The bright orange color of the sunset only lasted for a minute or so and was gone.
