            Deboxing the Grand Romance Belle and Beast dolls.  The box top is opened, and the inner box, to which the dolls are attached, is slid out and placed upright. The dolls are now in clear view from the front and sides.

Detailed photos of the Disney Beauty and the Beast Grand Romance Doll Set by Hasbro.  It features posable dolls of Belle and Beast, dressed in the ballroom outfits.  I bought it from from ToysRUs, for $49.99.  It was released on January 1, 2017, and is still available online (with free shipping) and in stores.  They have less articulation than Disney Store dolls, with totally stiff legs.  Beast only has neck, shoulders and hip joints.  He also has a removable tail, that can rotate in place.  His legs, head (except for his face and horns) and legs are flocked to mimic fur. He is not very stable free standing, so I used a Kaiser stand to support him in these photos.  His coat, vest and shirt are all one piece, and he has satin pants.  He has a passing resemblance to Dan Stevens as the Beast.  Belle has a one piece satin dress with a two layered organza overskirt , a printed paper rose in her left hand, no undergarments (except painted on panties), and plastic heels with bow decorations in front.  She has a few freckles on her cheeks, which are not prominent, and brown eyes that are looking forward.  She has a pleasant expression and a pretty face, but only slightly resembles Emma Watson.  She has ball jointed neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists and hips but no knee or ankle joints.  Hasbro also has a singing version of this Belle doll, with a slightly different dress, which costs $29.99.

The Disney Store has made the equivalent Belle and Beast dolls.  They are separately sold for $34.95 each, so the pair cost $20 more than the Hasbro versions.  They were released on January 16, 2017 (in North America). I will compare the two brands side by side soon.
