AgustaWestland AW159 Wildcat HMA2 - a photo on Flickriver

            In February 2012, AgustaWestland  AW159 Wildcat prototype No. 2 (ZZ402, C/n 464) carried out deck trials aboard HMS Iron Duke (a Type 23 Frigate).
In late 2013 the first production AgustaWestland AW159 Wildcat HMA2 was delivered to 700 NAS (Wildcat Fielding Squadron) at RNAS Yeovilton. Further deck landing trials followed aboard RFA Mounts Bay (a Bay-class Auxiliary Landing ship).
In 2015, the AgustaWestland AW159 Wildcat HMA2 entered service with the Royal Navy, on deployment aboard HMS Lancaster (a Duke-class Type 23 frigate). This was followed by a further Wildcat HMA2 deployment aboard HMS Duncan (a Type 45 Daring-class guided-missile destroyer).

AgustaWestland AW159 Wildcat HMA2, ZZ535, is seen on the 815/825 NAS ramp. A demountable Goodrich 44316 Rescue Hoist is filled to a mounting frame on the starboard side. A removable metal boarding platform is fitted below the main cabin door, also being utilized when fast-roping or abseiling exercises are being carried out.
