ATR42 Taking off from Runway 06 Pangnirtung (CYXP).

            Shortly after the gear is selected up a left turn is essential!!

Pangnirtung is certainly one of Nunavut’s more interesting airports to fly in and out of for many reasons.  It is 8 miles in a fiord right next to 2000 foot cliffs, the fiord is about 3 miles wide with almost 2000 foot cliffs on the opposite side, the runway is pretty much in the middle of the town, winds that can change without notice, winds that can blow from 3 different directions at the same time, fog that can roll in from Cumberland Sound very quickly, but on a beautiful day like this, it is just awesome!
