Chopping the Nuts

            There are several choices left to the palate of the baker. The first is which liquor to soak the dried sour cherries in. I choose a dark rum. Second is what liquor do you put on top after baking. Because of the cherries I decided to put kirsch on. Finally there is a choice of roasted nuts to include. I like the taste of cherries and almonds. In addition I added 1/4 teaspoon almond extract.
