Alpine scenery on the way to Salmon Glacier

            This may have been the nicest stop of our trip to Alaska - no wildfire smoke, great weather, and plenty to see. We stayed in the town of Stewart, BC, crossed the border into Hyder, Alaska, went to a bear watching spot - no bears but plenty of salmon. In the morning we took a rough road to Salmon Glacier - seeing eagles everywhere along the Salmon River. The view of the Salmon and other glaciers from the top was incredible. We lingered awhile, playing tourist and then got back on the road. Unfortunately once we got back on the Cassiar Highway we ran into thick wildfire smoke for several hours. Yuck.
