De-Horned Angel - a photo on Flickriver

De-Horned Angel

            This is another musical angel seen on a column in St. Peter's Cathedral in Lancaster.  I enlarged the image to discover a metal rod extending from the end of the carving, which is probably what remains of a previous attempt to repair this.  I would guess that the angel once held a horn, the end of which snapped off.
