            Family Memorial to : 2nd Lieutenant, Frederick Claud Dennis, B. Company, 17th (Welbeck Rangers) Battalion, Sherwood Foresters, Notts. & Derby Regiment.
Born : Circa: 1884, the youngest Son of the Late Thomas Dennis and Mrs. Sarah Jane Dennis of 70. Hartley Road, Radford, Nottingham.
He was employed as an Electrical Engineer by the Nottingham Corporation and attended Norton Street Congregational Church, Radford, Nottingham.
He was killed in action during a trench raid on the night of 31st July / 1st August 1916 aged 31.
Died : 1st August 1916.
Buried : Gorre British and Indian Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France.
Grave Reference : I. E. 17.
CWGC Reference : 592502.
Also Commemorated : University College, Nottingham Officer Training Corps War Memorial as : FC Dennis.
St. Peter’s Church War Memorial, Radford, Nottingham as : FC Dennis.
Norton Street Congregational Church and Sunday School War Memorial as : Frederick G. Dennis. 
Both his Parents, Thomas and Sarah Jane Dennis nee Wellberry are also Commemorated on the Memorial.
Thomas Dennis died in Nottingham aged 69, Sarah Jane Dennis died in Nottingham aged 79 in 1928, they had married in Boston, Lincolnshire in 1876, they had two other Sons : Arthur James Lewis Dennis: : Born : 1879 and Mark Randall Dennis : Born : 1881.
